Job Description

The Sales Engineer Software & IT is responsible to support the regional Sales team for a smooth execution of the sales activities. He/she drives the offer generation for customer tenders from a technical perspective, by translating customer needs into a value engineered solution and offer, and by validating technical specifications with all stakeholders and costing the offered scope. He/she assists in the realization of the set targets as part of the sales organization.

He/she is focusing on software and IT related topics within the Sales process, like scope of the Material Flow Process that is reflected in the Warehouse Control System (WCS, Movu ops), Traffic Control (Movu tower) and related communication interfaces. Moreover, he/she identifies and supports Sales in the clarification of Cybersecurity and IT Infrastructure related questions. During this process the Sales Engineer – Software & IT is supported by a Sales Expert for Software & IT from Headquaters and the Product Management.

  • Analyzing customer needs, data and Requests for Quotation
  • Understanding customer business processes and convey them into business logic
  • Drafting material flow and information/data flow charts to visualialize customer processes and enable Project Execution to deliver
  • Drafting automated intra-logistics solutions to maximize customer value using various tools incl. AutoCAD, for all Movu Robotics solutions including ifollow, escala, atlas, racking solutions, Warehouse Execution Software and others.
  • Assessing and presenting various concepts to sales and customers and discuss the concepts with Project Execution
  • Estimating the full offered scope’s costs
  • Coordinating full validation of the technical design and costs with all relevant stakeholders and experts, leading to formal design and cost approval
  • Documenting the full system designs in written offers, including functional descriptions, as input to sales
  • Supporting sales in customer interactions and commercial activities
  • Managing the storage and version management of tender documents, and preparing the full project kick off and hand-over to project execution
  • Interprets customer needs, assesses requirements, and identifies solutions to non-standard requests.
  • Translate system functionality into business relevant processes
  • Design activities include gathering the requirements, providing configuration, process recommendations and functional design document to the customer to arrive at an efficient business solution.
  • Demonstrate quick thinking, analytical skills and problem solving to provide faster [sometimes out of the box] solutions to our customer business problems and help increase the ROI.
  • Should be able to independently support high complexity customers and/or lead complex projects.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Master degree in a related technical field or a related field
  • Experience in a intralogistic environment is a nice to have
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices and industry trends
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent knowledge of English and Dutch, other languages are a plus
