Jimmy’s popcorn is stocked across Europe, from the Netherlands (its home country) to Poland and France. With this rate of growth Jimmy’s had outpaced the size of their current warehouse, they needed a solution that could support their ambitions for the future – resulting in a deal signed in summer 2024 with Movu.
We were tasked with designing a Movu atlas four-way pallet shuttle system, run by our Movu OPS software – sized for 6,000 pallet locations, built into a rack footprint of 53 by 63 metres - 3,339 square metres of floor.
The system runs on two lifts and holds everything at ambient temperature, so there's no cold-chain complexity on top of the automation itself. What Jimmy's needed was density, more pallets in the same warehouse, without giving up throughput.
The four-way shuttle design also fed into Jimmy's energy-reduction goals: fewer driving lanes than a conventional system needs, which means less structure and less movement to power.
